Syngoniums are semi-climbing plants, and can be trained on a totem, or grown in a hanging basket. They prefer a medium to bright indirect light, and should be allowed to completely dry out between watering. The foliage will feel soft and look a little droopy when they need water.
A liquid or granular indoor plant fertiliser can be used to keep them looking their best.
Syngoniums can be prone to mealybug. Inspect foliage including low on the stems and base of leaves regularly. Apply white oil to control these pests, which also works as a leaf shine.
Stems will lean towards a light source so after watering, rotate the pot to allow for even growth.
This plant is grown in a 25cm nursery pot, which can be placed in a decorative planter.
Note: Syngoniums contain calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause skin irritation when handled and are toxic to pets if ingested. Keep them out of reach of children and animals.
