Wedding Terms & Conditions

Quotes are provided at your consultation and are valid for 14 days. Quotes not accepted within 30 days will need to be reconfirmed in writing before they can be accepted. Some quotes may expire prior to 14 days, in which case the date will be shown on the quote.  All quotes are based upon the information provided to us, and may be subject to change.

Your wedding date is reserved once a 30% non-refundable booking has been paid. Your deposit covers securing the date, confirming your order and floral designs, and pre-ordering flowers with suppliers. Bookings made within one month of the wedding date must be paid in full on acceptance of the quote, as flowers must be ordered in advance.

Payments can be made at any time from the date of booking up until one (1) month prior to the wedding date, when final and full payment is required. Our preferred method for payment is direct deposit. Payments by cash or direct debit can be made in store. Visa and MasterCard is also accepted.

We offer one complimentary appointment and written quote. It is recommended that you email photo inspiration prior to your consultation so that we can give you an accurate quote. we also advise that you check with Australian and Brisbane based website on seasonal flower availability.

Order Confirmation
All orders must be confirmed with a booking no later than one (1) month before the wedding date. Please check your order carefully, as we take no responsibility for any errors or omissions once you have confirmed your final order. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that any item/s are fit for their intended use.

Once you have booked your wedding, changes may be made, however they may incur additional charges and are not guaranteed. Bookings are transferrable to another date (subject to notice and our availability). We recommend that you finalize all the details of your wedding flowers at least one (1) month prior to the date, so your flowers can be ordered. Any arrangements made into vases supplied by yourself or a venue cannot be accurately quoted until supplied to us. Any changes to vessels may also require re-quoting.

Weddings cancelled within 1 week of the scheduled delivery or collection time will not be refunded as the flowers have been purchased and arranged and cannot be reused – they are a custom-made product. We will also have blocked out the date in good faith and have lost the opportunity to make another wedding or function. Cancellations made more than two weeks prior to the wedding date will be refunded less the 30% non-refundable booking.

Availability and variations
When working with nature, there are no guarantees. We will do our absolute best to supply exactly what you order, however due to variances in the weather and seasonal availability of some flowers, we cannot guarantee availability, exact colours or shades. Should we need to substitute any specified flowers for you, we will select what we feel is the next best option. We will advise you of any major changes.

Dyed Flowers
If your Wedding bouquet contains dyed flowers, please note they are not colourfast. If the stems or heads get wet or touch fabric/hands, the colour may run / transfer or stain. To prevent this, please dry the stems carefully & thoroughly before handling.

Deliveries are quoted for each suburb and time. Delivery does not include set up unless specified. Should you require set up, a separate price will be quoted based on an hourly rate.

Sundays and public holidays
We can arrange collections outside normal business hours and some public holidays on request.

Northside Flower Market does not hire vases or wedding decorations.

We are happy to provide you with market bunches to make your own wedding. The price may vary due to seasonality and if they are a special order, or a flower we don’t usually stock. If you require flowers to be open you will need to collect them a few days before, the florist will let you know on the day of ordering how many days in advance. We sell florist tape, wire and cutters. We recommend you provide your own ribbon.

A 50% booking is required with final payment on the day, we can advise price the day before. There are no changes to special orders for market flowers in the last month and whatever is ordered must be collected and paid for – we are not able to return flowers to growers if you change your mind. If for some reason we can’t purchase the flowers you are after we will endeavour to organise you a second option, we will discuss this with you prior.
There is no email correspondence for this option as it does not go to the wedding bouquet section of our shop.  We recommend you collect your flowers the day before to allow time to make your bouquets. If you have someone else making your bouquets with our flowers, whether they are a friend or another florist, they take over the responsibility for flower care, damage, wastage and the final product as this is now out of our control.

Special Orders
We require a minimum of 4 weeks’ notice for orders.

Second Options
We will require a second option in case the flowers you choose are not available. Some reasons why flowers are not available include:
Transport issues
Quality control
Climate variations
High demand

Please note that if this is a wedding order we recommend ordering an extra bunch or two in case there are broken heads or brown tips. These flowers are perishable and while every care is taken while in our shop sometimes flowers can be damaged in transit and you will not be aware of this until you unwrap them for use.  This happens to us as well, and we order extra (just in case).
The person ordering the flowers must collect, check, count the flower bunches and sign approval before the flowers can leave the shop.

Please ensure there is cool water for the flowers to be placed in when you return from our shop with flowers. The buckets need to be extremely very clean and have cool, clean tap water in them. Using dirty vessels will reduce the life of the flowers.
Flowers should not be out of water for more than 10-15 minutes, every minute out of water reduces their lifespan. If you need to have buckets of water in the car for a long drive we are happy to fill buckets with water for you.
We do not supply buckets, as we have a limited stock on hand for our shop requirements.
When you arrive with the flowers unwrap them in a cool environment, gently remove foliage and cut bottom of every stem by 2-3cm and place in cool water. To avoid damaging the flowers, do not overcrowd the buckets.
Do not store flowers or foliage in a domestic or commercial refrigerator/cold room. These will damage them. Keeping flowers hydrated, in an air-conditioned room out of direct sunlight is adequate for most purposes.

If you require flowers for a wedding or event we recommend you collect them and make them the day before. Please note, flowers are perishable and they will be damaged and perish quickly under the following conditions:
Left in car for more than 15 minutes
Left out of cool water for over 20 minutes
Not having their stems cut
Being handled (out of water to make a bouquet) for more than 20 minutes. Hot hands, hot environment, warm water or no water will result in your flowers perishing quickly.
