Emilia & Alex’s West End Wedding

On this week’s blog we look at Emilia & Alex’s West End Wedding. Thanks to Emilia for taking part in our Q&A, and to Emilia’s uncle, who was the photographer for the day.

Wedding dress designer? My mum designed and made my wedding dress.  It was the most special thing to have a dress tailor made with so much love and attention.

Suit Designer? Alex’s suit is from MJ Bale.

Hair and Makeup? Teneille Bourke was our hairdresser (Facebook: Teneille LP Bourke) and we had Amanda Hamson as our makeup artist (Facebook: Miss A Hair & Makeup Artist).

Venue: We were married in Orleigh Park, West End by Erin Woodhall – whom is an amazing celebrant! And our reception was held at The Joinery.

Theme Inspiration: I had always pictured our wedding to be simple but elegant.  Alex was really drawn to the industrial theme that our venue provided.  So it ended up being an industrial style with simple, natural tones.

What is your favourite flower? Lilies – Alex has always bought my lilies, their smell will always remind me of him.  So, it was very important for me to have some in my wedding bouquet.

Who was your photographer? My uncle was our photographer on the day, he has a passion for photography and did a fantastic job.

Highlight of your wedding day? Standing hand in hand with Alex, watching the emotion and joy in his face as we said our vows.  It was the most beautiful day, everything was perfect and it made that moment so much more special.

Favourite part of the florals? The bouquets were exactly as I had imagined.  I felt that my ideas and requests were really listened to, the flowers were beautiful and the foliage was wonderfully arranged to achieve the unstructured, natural look that I’d hoped for.  I absolutely loved my hair comb with the small roses on it and the pin holes were understated but tied in perfectly.  Thank you very much.
