GOLD PACKAGE

Northside Flower Market has a range of wedding bouquets that are extremely popular and reasonably priced. The concept is simple. You give us the colour theme and we will make gorgeous bouquets for you.

Many engaged couples have a mortgage and are very busy with their career and simply do not have the time to dedicate to their wedding that brides had in the past. They also usually pay for their own wedding; their parents are not paying for everything, so the budget is very important. Weddings are expensive but just because you do not want to spend a lot of money does not mean you don't want everything to be beautiful and special.

You don't have to buy any expensive books/magazines or learn what flowers are or what's in season. We use wedding flowers in season such as Oriental lilies, Asiatic lilies, roses, orchids, freesias, lisianthus, hyacinths and other seasonal flowers. We do not use gerberas, carnations or chrysanthemums for our Gold weddings but you can request them.

We are using the same good quality wedding flowers as all our weddings, but without the time and cost of sourcing one or a few bunches of a certain flower from anywhere in Australia.  This means we can save time and money and significant freight costs and pass that on to you. We can buy our wedding flowers on the back of our weekly market orders and therefore charge a lower price.

Some of the colour options include pale pink & cream, bright mix, red & white, pastels, & all white. The bouquets are round, natural stem, posy bouquets with seasonal flowers and greenery, the stems are bound your choice of coloured ribbon.

An example of the 2010 prices for a Gold Package wedding are as follows:

Bride's Bouquet in seasonal flowers with your colour choice: $155 each

Attendant's Bouquet in seasonal flowers with your colour choice: $135 each

Buttonholes: $13 each

Corsages: $35 each

SILVER PACKAGE

This is a cost effective option for your wedding flowers when you have a florist or gifted amateur in the family.  You tell us what flowers you want and the colour and we will order them and you (or a friend) make the bouquets at home. This is very popular with small weddings and can be very efficient. We also stock the sundries required to make bouquets including wire in all gauges, and rolls of parafilm. With regards to ribbon we would recommend you   buy the exact quantity by the metre from a haberdasher to match your dresses and colour theme.

What’s the procedure?

Many bridal magazines have planners to help with wedding plans and wedding suppliers. They are great, but most are written for the NSW and Victorian market, while some are from the UK or North America. This can be frustrating especially with flower availability for our Queensland climate. We find Queensland Brides to be the best reference guide for brides in the Brisbane area.

When should I start thinking about my flowers?

If you have a chance to come in a year before you will see the flowers available at that time of year. It can be very disappointing to have your heart set on a flower that is not available in Brisbane at that time of year. We recommend you come in for a consultation with us about 6 to 8 months before the wedding.  You can call or email us at any time to get an idea of what will be in season.

Can I just turn up or do I need an appointment?

You do need an appointment. Please ring for a mutually suitable time for a consultation to avoid disappointment.

What should I have completed before the consultation?

You should have all dress designs and wedding theme colour and style finalised.

What do I bring to the consultation?

It is not absolutely necessary to bring the above mentioned items but they do help. Bring pictures or photos of the wedding party’s dresses and/or material swatches. This helps with communicating exactly what style you have for the wedding (eg. our version of pink may be different to yours). Photos or design ideas for your bouquets are also very helpful.  You will receive a fully itemised order in the post or via email with all pricing and payments details. A non-refundable booking confirms that we will design your wedding flowers. Final payment is due one month before the wedding.

Why are there two price options?

Wedding flowers are expensive to buy due to the fact that a wedding bouquet is out of water and handled very heavily all day. It is very different to taking flowers home and putting them in a vase. Therefore we only use specialised wedding growers for our wedding bouquets.

As we do a lot of weddings every weekend, we can buy seasonal flowers in bulk at a better rate and pass these savings onto you. We also like to buy as much as possible from local growers to support our community. If we have to buy in specific flowers from interstate we have to buy a lot of flowers to make the freight economic. Air freighting flowers is very costly.

Will a wholesale wedding be of lesser quality?

The short answer is no. We still use the same wedding growers and the same designers, we just have a better buying power with seasonal flowers.

What is the price difference?

Usually you can save between $50 to $150 per bouquet.

Wedding flowers take a long time to open, and look after, and construct. We try to keep all our prices as low as possible.

I live interstate/overseas but am getting married in Brisbane, can you help me?

Yes, we have done many weddings for brides who live overseas.
